My work as an art curator, gallerist, museum specialist, consultant, educator, and advocate, has placed me in a realm of amazing art, incredible talent, and fascinating individuals. Today, I am more keenly aware than ever of the intricate patterns of connection and convergence that each day brings some new and unexpected twist or turn. Beyond the lifestyles and personalities, the thing that continues to hook me is the time I spend visiting museums, galleries, and artists’ studios.

The dictionary definition of “studio” is “the working place of a painter, sculptor, or photographer,” but for me these places are much more – they are where magic happens, where visions become manifest, where visual language is invented, places where the unseen becomes seen. Similarly, “passport” is defined “as a thing that ensures admission to or the achievement of something.” In my experiences working with galleries and museums I have witnessed the enlightenment and transformation that is achieved when people engage with a great work of art – and I have been present when a person experiences the type of shift in perception that forever changes the way they see the world.

Grasping the value of such encounters is what led me to make it my life pursuit to bring art and the art experience into the lives of others. I coined the term STUDIOPASSPORT as a metaphor to encapsulate the entrée I have been given into the exquisite world of art and my consent to forge a life endeavoring to share the art experience with others.   Read More >>
